Utility-scale solar development delivering clean energy across Southern Africa
Our flagship utility-scale solar development represents one of the largest renewable energy investments in the Southern African region. Located near the iconic Victoria Falls, this project will deliver clean, reliable power to support Zambia's growing economy and reduce dependence on hydroelectric power during drought conditions.
PolyPower Global is developing a multi-phase, 1,000MW solar generation program across strategic sites throughout Zambia. Working in partnership with ZESCO and Zambian regulatory authorities including ZEMA (Zambia Environmental Management Agency) and ERB (Energy Regulation Board), this program will significantly expand the nation's renewable energy capacity.
The program addresses Zambia's growing electricity demand and vulnerability to climate-related hydropower variability, diversifying the national energy mix while creating substantial local employment and economic development opportunities.
Our portfolio of projects under development and in planning
Strategic advantages for utility-scale solar development
Average solar irradiance of 5.5+ kWh/m²/day provides optimal conditions for solar generation with high capacity factors.
Connection to the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP) enables regional power trading and grid stability.
Rapidly expanding economy with increasing electricity demand and government commitment to renewable energy.
Clear regulatory framework through ERB and strong government support for IPP development.
Solar reduces dependence on hydropower, providing resilience against climate-related drought impacts.
Established relationship with ZESCO as creditworthy offtaker with government backing.
We welcome discussions with EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, financial institutions, and development partners.
